Monaco was and is the most glamorous Grand Prix in the F1 Calendar. The poster reproduced on the right (click on it for details of where and how to buy) is from the 5th Monaco Grand Prix which took place in April 1933. Depicted is the view of a car as it emerges from the tunnel on the road along the harbor front. The tunnel has been rebuilt but the view is still recognisable.

Once the cars emerge from the tunnel (above) they drive on the harbor road. This scene is also recognisable in today's Monaco... as are the palm trees and the view up to the coastal path and around the headland depicted in this Monaco grand Prix poster from August 1937.
